Morgana thanks Drupa for rise in sales

Finishing equipment manufacturer Morgana Systems has reported an increased year-on-year order intake for the first quarter of 2009.

The Milton Keynes-based company attributed the recession-defying results to the raft of new equipment launched at Drupa last year.

Morgana's managing director Quen Baum also said that like-for-like sales are comparable with 2008.

The manufacturer launched the DigiCoater, DocuMaster, and the DigiFold 5000P creaser/folder at last year's event in Germany. Baum said that the machines had been popular both in the UK and abroad.

He added: "These are very encouraging results. Bearing in mind the current global economic climate and the fact that first quarter sales in 2008 were particularly strong."
