Mller flexibility pays off

Mller Martini (Hall 14, stand C21-1) has attributed its success in selling both its major drupa launches to its emphasis on flexible solutions that cater for offset and digital customers.

The digital-ready Alegro perfect binding machine, launched at drupa, has sold particularly well. Deals have been signed with printers from Austria, the UK, Ireland and Latvia, with other potential agreements in the offing.

Müller Martini’s other drupa world premiere, the FlexLiner inserting system, has also generated significant interest, with the first machine sold to SKN in Germany.

Book finishing has been an area of particular success, said chief executive Bruno Müller. "There’s been a lot of interest in the book arena this drupa. This is because the book market is still doing very well, and people are looking to our machines."

The company has secured sales for a new Pantera digital perfect binder and two deals for its newly enhanced Primera C130 saddle stitcher.

However, Müller said Müller Martini machines had sold well across the company’s range. New product launches and on-stand demonstrations had generated a great deal of "sales momentum" for the company’s entire portfolio.

He said the company had also had official signings for the VSOP web press, as well as hardcover and digital solutions, adding: "The key to our success has been our flexibility in providing technology for short and long run offset as well as digital, and an approach that offers a complete solution for fast changeovers and automation."
