ITL to launch new UV LED curing products at Labelexpo

Integration Technology (ITL) is to use Labelexpo to unveil products it claimed will offer “unrivalled” performance and class-leading dose outputs for digital label printers.

Two new slimline water and air-cooled UV LED curing products, Solidcure 2 N and Pincure 2, will do away with the challenges usually associated with pinning inkjet applications, according to ITL.

Solidcure 2 N is at home as either a full-cure system for colour printing or for use for heavy pinning of high-density colours, such as white, in high-speed applications.

It measures 20mm wide and can slot into tight machine spaces. The Solidcure 2N is scalable in length and water-cooled to deliver dose and linearity of output quality that surpasses other water cooled products, the company said.

Complementing the ITL Pincure product, first launched four years ago, the 20mm thick Pincure 2 UV LED offers more power in a lightweight package for high-speed pinning between inkjet printheads.

According to the manufacturer, the optics of the original Pincure model have been improved and are now housed within a design that prohibits media contact and contamination to the lenses. It also features integral all-air cooling and is scalable for length of application.

ITL managing director Adrian Lockwood said the cost of the technology would depend on the number of print stations and heads.

“Both these products are aimed at the digital label market and digital web press manufacturers such as Mark Andy and Durst,” he said.

“We launched the Pincure product in 2011, a 16mm wafer-thin product that slid between printheads, but machines have got faster and printheads wider.

“The latest version has two-and-a-half times more power than the original model but with all the digital experience we've gained since 2011.”

ITL will be exhibiting alongside strategic partner IST Metz at At Labelexpo in Brussels, which runs from 29 September to 2 October.

ITL develops ultra-violet curing systems for digital printing as well as other technologies.
