Friedheim and Duplo join forces to host ‘Spring Showcase’

Finishing equipment specialists Friedheim International and Duplo will host a ‘Spring Showcase’ next month, at which Friedheim will demonstrate the Zechini X-Book range in the UK for the first time.

The event, which will be held at Friedheim’s Hemel Hempstead showroom from 19-21 May, is open to anybody interested in attending.

The Zechini X-Book range, which comprises of the Roby Junior 2, X-Case and X-Forming machines, is suitable for hard-cover book production with casemaking and casing-in, and includes pressing and forming.

Also on show will be the Komfi Amiga 52, which is suitable for B2-format thermal laminating, and the Duplo KB4000 PUR perfect binder, which can be used for soft-cover book production.

The Schneider Senator 78 E-line guillotine, the Baumann BA 2 Ne unloader, for the cutting and handling of B2 format sheets, and the Audion EL-Matic and TE-Matic shrinkwrap combination, for the film wrapping and packaging of books, will also be demonstrated.

The two companies will show how these machines can operate in combination to create production set-ups that offer more flexibility.

Friedheim marketing manager Neil Elliott said: “This event is our first opportunity to give people the chance to see the Zechini kit without having to travel overseas.

“The Zechini equipment covers the bookbinding element of the event but we’ve decided to bring a few other elements on board as well to show other aspects that can be done.

“For example, any books that are produced on the Zechini equipment can be shrinkwrapped using the Audion EL-Matic and TE-Matic or the sheets can be cut on the Schneider guillotine.

“It gives people the opportunity to see equipment in our portfolio across a number of different processes.”

Demonstrators, technicians and salespeople from both Duplo and Friedheim will be on-hand to assist visitors during all three days of the event.
