Fedrigoni Group publishes eighth Environmental and Health & Safety Report

The Fedrigoni Group has published its eighth Environmental and Health & Safety Report.

Over the course of 2009, the company has installed methane gas-powered co-generation facilities that enable it to generate its own electricity and thermal energy in-house.

As a result, its total energy consumption (thermal energy and electricity) has fallen by one third over the last seven years, while production of paper and cards has increased by 48%.

Fedrigoni facilities have also reduced their specific per-tonne consumption of fresh water by nearly 40%.

The company now has 85% of its products FSC CoC (Mixed Sources) certified, while the remaining 15% is defined FSC Controlled Wood, which means that it is made from cellulose that doesn't have FSC CoC but complies with its basic principles.

The company is also EN ISO 9001 certified, UNI EN ISO 14001, and BSI – OHSAS 18001 certified.
