EFI Fiery servers to support Pantone Plus

EFI has broadened its support for Pantone colour standards after announcing that its Fiery digital print servers will now include support for Pantone Plus.

Pantone Plus is the latest incarnation of the Pantone matching system, which the company claimed would offer designers and printers enhanced feature sets and an expanded range of spot colours.

Fiery devices will now feature this expanded range of built-in color libraries in addition to the existing pre-loaded Pantone colour libraries.

According to Andy Hatkoff, vice president of technology licensing for Pantone, incorporating Pantone Plus on Fiery servers guarantees customers spot colours are accurate and consistent for all jobs.

Earlier this month, EFI launched the latest iteration of its Fiery digital front end, which the company claimed to offer more accurate and consistent colour and improved variable-data capabilities.

Fiery System 10, which is available now, features a new job-based calibration tool that customises calibration for each individual job, based on the associated media and profiles.

Fiery Calibrator also incorporates a tool named 'Calibration Guard', which provides calibration status, warnings, and alerts to highlight calibration issues.
