Easyfairs' London event poised to be biggest yet

This week’s Packaging Innovations & Luxury Packaging London is set to be the largest yet with more than 170 exhibitors putting the final touches to their stands in advance of the show opening tomorrow.

“There’s no doubt it’s set to be bigger and even better than last year,” said event director Alison Church.

“The new venue gives us a much better visitor flow, there are numerous new features; the Luxury Packaging Conference and things like Brand Innovation Programme, Innovation Wall and Innovation debate, and when you combine that with all the innovations being shown by exhibitors then there’s something for everyone."

The two-day event, which is being held on 16 and 17 September at, for the first time, London Olympia, features a raft of free-to-attend seminars presented by leading brands and figures from across the packaging spectrum.

Meanwhile, Packaging Innovations organiser Easyfairs UK & Global has appointed a new event director for its UK packaging events as incumbent Alison Church steps up to the newly created role of marketing director across the UK and global business.

Gerry Sherwood joined Easyfairs from i2i Events last week. At i2i he was most recently market development director, but prior to that he was event director and group marketing manager on waste management show RWM.

“I’m really looking forward to rolling our marketing best practice across all our events,” said Church.

“But the UK packaging portfolio is in great hands. Gerry has a wealth of experience from events like RWM amongst others, so he knows the sustainable side of the industry very well. He will no doubt bring many fresh ideas to continue the growth of the UK shows for many years to come.”
