Duplo reveals London Calling partners and VIP party theme

Fujifilm, Infigo Software, Renz, Antalis, Vivid and Neopost are the first partners to have been announced for the London Calling Focus event in November.

First-time participant Infigo Software at the London event on 3 and 4 November has already worked with Duplo at its first Northern Lights show in March.

The Crawley-based business is reporting strong UK sales and has just announced agreements with companies in the US.

And Fujifilm is to return after a year’s gap to show its thermomoulding technology.

Duplo UK marketing manager Sarah Crumpler said the manufacturer had not felt it had the right products to show last year.

“I’m quite excited they are showing the thermomoulding technology, I’m hoping it will add interest to the show. It links into their commercial print technology.

Duplo will focus on showing off workflows, including personalised applications, that it said were “precise, automated and attractive to the eye”.

“I think it’s going to be great in terms of workflows. Infigo will be great in terms of software and how that links into Balreed and Antalis,” Crumpler added.

“It’s about how all the products work together, when companies come in to be part of the show they know they don’t get their own dedicated spot. You can sense some areas are themed but it’s more about saying these are the products and this is how they can work well for you.

“We’re looking forward to a really exciting event and hope to see as many people as possible there.”

As in previous years, the spotlight will also be on business networking and fun at the event, held at Sunbeam Studios, Ladbroke Hall, North Kensington. The venue was the first purpose-built car factory and showroom in the UK and is now a popular photographic studio and event space.

Duplo is running a 007-themed invitation-only VIP night inspired by classic James Bond films on the evening of 3 November.

Crumpler said the night was a bit of fun which reflected the fact it was London Calling’s seventh year.

“We’ve never had a theme before and we thought we’d have some fun. Fancy dress is optional,” she said.

The BPIF is also supporting London Calling Focus will and will promote PrintIT!, the nationwide education initiative teaching young people about print and allied industries, at the show.

Duplo is expecting at least 400 people to attend the whole event. Find out more on the event microsite.
