Domino N610i to go head-to-head with four rival inkjet label presses at Labelexpo Americas

Domino will pitch its N610i against inkjet label presses from four rival manufacturers at Labelexpo Americas next week as part of a new demonstration programme at the exhibition, dubbed the Inkjet Trail.

The N610i will be running on Domino's stand (6523) at the show in two configurations - a five-colour N610i CMYK+W and a seven-colour N610i CMYKOV+W - one of which will be equipped with inline finishing while the other prints roll-to-roll.

It will be pitted against rival machines as part of the Inkjet Trail, which will see the various competing manufacturers produce the same designated food, personal care and industrial labels from identical artwork on the same substrates.

The Domino N610i will be up against Durst's Tau 330 UV, the EFI Jetrion 4950LX, Epson's Surepress L-4033 and Screen's Truepress Jet L350 UV. Paper, film and foil substrates for the demonstrations will be provided by Avery Dennison, FLEXcon, and UPM Raflatac.

Tasha Ventimiglia, event director for Labelexpo Americas, said: "All of the press manufacturers are on a truly equal footing by using the same label stocks and artwork designs, so it will be a very useful insight into how their finished results will compare on things like ink migration or print quality."

In addition to live demonstrations, sample books of the Inkjet Trial labels will be available from all five manufacturers throughout the show.

Domino will also be giving separate demonstrations of the seven-colour N610i printing on a different substrate for each day of the 9-11 September show, which will take place in the Donald E. Stephens convention centre in Rosemont, IL.

Domino launched the 75m/min, 600dpi N610i at Labelexpo Europe 2013 and is targeting 25 installs worldwide this year.
