Canon firms up plans for PrintWeekLive!

Canon has confirmed its plans for PrintWeekLive!, outlining the kit it will show on its stand as well as details of its workshops.

The company will show live printing on three machines at its 54sqm booth, including the roll-to-roll Océ Colorado 1640 wide-format printer, the first to utilise its UVgel curable ink system.

The imagePress c850 85ppm printer and the imagePrograf Pro-4000s printer for photographic and fine art printing will also be running on the stand.

Canon said its experts will be on hand to discuss how visitors can improve their business with its range of flatbed wide-format and production inkjet technologies as well as its workflow systems and web-to-print platforms.

Visitors will be able to find out more about the Océ VarioPrint i300 high-speed colour inkjet sheetfed press while Canon’s team of continuous-feed experts will also offer advice on Océ ProStream, ColorStream and ImageStream systems.

Canon said it will be inspiring customers through its campaign for its fictional cosmetics brand Elemental, which will focus on how traditional and innovative print applications can help brands to maximise omni-channel marketing campaigns.

Marketing business consultant Jacky Hobson will be delivering one-to-one business consultations to customers on how to enhance their marketing strategy.

Running on the show’s first day on 7 March, the consultations can be booked by emailing: unleashprint@cuk.canon.co.uk.

The business will also host two seminars at PrintWeekLive! On 7 March, from 11.15am to 11.45am, Hobson and Canon Europe’s Mark Lawn will ask ‘Who is today’s print customer?’.

Then on 8 March, Canon UK’s Graeme Wappett will host a seminar from 11.15am to 11.45am titled ‘Inkjet technology: can it be your next big business move?’.

Duncan Smith, director of industrial and production solutions at Canon UK, said: “The professional print market is changing fast. To fully capitalise on today’s market opportunities, printers need to respond quickly to customer demands for short runs and tight windows. And they also need the flexibility to work with all types of customer requirements.

“PrintWeekLive! will be a great platform for us to show our world-class capabilities and to have meaningful conversations about how we, in partnership, can take customers’ businesses forward.

“Visitors to our stand will definitely be inspired. They will see how Canon takes a holistic view of the entire print process chain, creating innovative, cost-efficient and agile print solutions that help businesses gain a winning competitive advantage.”

He added: “I am sure there will also be huge interest in Canon workflow consulting, project management and support services. These all help deliver what customers really want.

PrintWeekLive! takes place on 7/8 March 2018 in the Ericsson exhibition hall at the Wasps Arena, Coventry.
