BPIF scoops two more trade gongs

The BPIF has won two Trade Association Forum (TAF) awards, doubling its tally from last year, while the British Coatings Federation (BCF) also took home two.

At an event at London’s Drapers’ Hall on 12 July, hosted by musician-turned-clergyman Reverend Richard Coles, the print industry federation, which was nominated for four awards, scooped the prize for Publication of the Year for its Book of the Night at the British Book Design and Production Awards (BBD&PAs).

It also won website of the year for its newly launched site, which went live in March 2016, and was highly commended in the Conference of the Year category for its BOSS Leaders of the Future conference. Last year, it took the Event of the Year award for the BBD&PAs.

Marketing director Amy Hutchinson said: “We’re absolutely delighted. We’re really happy to get those two because we put a lot of work in. All teams are involved in trying to improve the website and make it as accessible as possible for our members, so that was a lovely one for our company to win.

“The success is down to our teamwork; the team were pulling out all the stops and delivering a great website and a beautiful publication that was really creative and then also putting effort into the submissions for the awards, which were quite last minute.”

Hutchinson added that the extended deadline for entrants to this year’s BBD&PAs is 21 July and called on interested parties to submit work.

The BCF beat off competition from more than 300 trade associations to win the Trade Association of the Year award and also won the Marketing Campaign of the Year for its DIY Safe Antifouling Initiative, being highly commended in the Magazine of the Year category.

BCF chief executive Linda Cavender said that the federation had had “another outstanding year, growing from strength-to-strength, addressing their members’ needs”.
