Böwe Systec to release new high-speed inserter

Böwe Systec has unveiled a new high-speed inserter, which it plans to release next year.
The German manufacturer said the machine, Fusion Speed, will be capable of filling up to 30,000 envelopes per hour. The company revealed the product via a video on its booth at Hunkeler Innovationdays, which took place earlier this week in Lucerne, Switzerland.
A prototype of the device will be shown to the public for the first time at an open day event at Böwe Systec’s Augsburg production and development facility on 14 May and it is currently scheduled for a commercial launch around April 2020.
Fusion Speed follows the success of the company’s Fusion Cross inserting system and is said to retain that machine’s strengths but – depending on the application – is capable of higher speeds and can handle a range of formats from B6+ and 7¾ to B5 and 6x9.
“This new high-performance inserting machine and its exceptional speed mean that we can generate even more output for our customers, and they can achieve a return on investment from the machine within a short period of time,” said Böwe Systec product manager for inserting Wulf Böttcher.
The company said Fusion Speed and Fusion Cross are set apart from other systems on the market by their unique inserting technique, Flow-Principle.
This slows the filling speed down by 4.5 times to allow more time for the actual filling process, enabling different envelope formats and difficult enclosures up to 15mm thick and weighing up to 1kg to be handled, all without stopping.
