What does the firm do?
Pollards is a family-owned business founded in 1781. It started printing bibles, scientific pamphlets and poetry booklets, but now specialises in stationery and business forms. It has digital, litho and finishing capabilities up to B2. The firm’s in-house design studio offers consultation and artwork services.

Managing director is Mervyn Ely, commercial director is Steve Halstead and production director is Dennis Mason.

How much has it grown?
During the past two years, the firm has purchased a five-colour Speedmaster SM 74 and two Kodak digital presses: a mono­chrome Digimaster and a full-colour Nexpress. These have given Pollards the opportunity to approach different market sectors.

What might the future hold?
Pollards is about to launch a new online ordering system that incorporates personalised documents, as well as standard print.  The system will let customers order items such as point-of-sale, merchandise and presentations.
