The machine offers the St Andrews, Fife-based business an increased cutting width of 670mm over the 580mm Polar model it replaces.

Set for delivery at the end of August, the Polar 66 features a monochrome touchscreen display and will handle a range of applications.

West Port Print & Design managing director Terry Scanlon said: "We have a high volume of print from both our litho and digital side.

"We like the Polar name and Heidelberg as a supplier so we chose to replace the 1991 machine with this wider Polar 66."

West Port, which has been established since 1983, runs both litho, digital and wide-format machines and serves a range of businesses as well as local firms and students.
