Warren expands services with seven-figure investment

Independent cartonboard and graphical board stockist Warren has announced that its new converting facility, part of a seven-figure investment programme to expand its service offerings, is now fully operational.

The Leicestershire-based firm’s new 3,902sqm converting facility in West Bromwich, Warren Converters, became fully operational earlier this month after the installation of new board converting machinery was completed.

The firm acquired the equipment, which includes a reel-to-sheet cutting machine, a rewinder and a guillotine, from Reno De Medici UK’s Wednesbury plant in February.

The investments have enabled the company, which also has five units in Glenfield, Leicestershire covering a total area of 10,684sqm, to diversify into new markets and move into paper distribution for the first time.

"The opening of the West Bromwich site will allow for a greater, more ‘local’ service into the West Midlands for board and paper," said managing director Kieran Ferguson.

The expanded services have already won the company new work. It has just completed a £500,000 contract from a London printer and has secured another of "significant value". The deals came about following discussions by Warren with a number of its commercial print clients about its new facilities and services.

Warren has also undergone a rebrand, which reflects the changes to the business. It now has a slightly revised logo to reflect the additional divisions and encompass all three main areas of the business: board, paper and converting.

“We wanted to identify the new divisions within our business without detracting from our well-established brand. Customers can now see quite clearly the enhanced range of products and services available to them,” said Ferguson.

The firm employs 30 staff and its turnover is set to top £20m, with sales currently up 21% on the previous year’s figures. It is also planning further expansion with additional staff and new facilities part of its ongoing development strategy.
