Walker promoted at PCP

Magazine and catalogue specialist Precision Colour Printing has promoted Adam Walker to its main board.

Walker joined the Telford-based business as head of operations just over three years ago from Communisis. He has now been promoted to operations director.

Managing director Alex Evans said the promotion was richly-deserved: "Adam has done a great job. He's very proactive and has implemented a comprehensive total productive maintenance programme to make sure our assets are looked after properly, and that has improved productivity and output," he said.

"Our downtime has been reduced, and we are showing an increase of about 15% in OEE in the bindery, and 10% on the presses," Evans added.

Walker joins Evans, finance director Nick Denning and commercial director Nick Evans on the firm's main board.

He said he was honoured to accept the role and thanked the directors and his colleagues at PCP for embracing new working practices. "It is great to see the high number of operators involved in personal development programs which are supported by PCP as it shows commitment to the employees and the future of the business," he said.

The firm is part of the Claverley Group and had sales of £36.2m in the financial year to 31 December 2016. It employs around 235 staff. PCP run three web offset presses, two long-perfecting sheetfed presses, and has a comprehensive in-house bindery including stitching and perfect binding facilities.
