SwissQprint launches latest-gen LED inkjets at Fespa

SwissQprint has launched the latest generation of its LED inkjet printers at Fespa.

The Swiss manufacturer said it had completely redesigned the architecture of the printhead carriage on its third-generation models, to increase precision, while a new control system has increased user-friendliness.

The new portfolio includes five models: Nyala 3, Impala 3 and Oryx 3 can all print in CMYK plus up to five additional colour channels, while the high-productivity Nyala 3S, which can print at up to 370sqm/hr, and Impala 3S, which can output at up to 317sqm/hr, both feature CMYK plus one additional colour channel.

“Nyala 3S and Impala 3S have been developed for people who need fast throughput for larger viewing distances,” said marketing services specialist Petra Fetting.

“You won’t do any fine art work with them, but you have speed and you can still do very good quality.”

The new models are suitable for producing POS, posters, banners and backlit applications and will be available from August via SwissQprint’s distributor network.

New for all of the third-generation models is an extended roll-to-roll option that enables easier processing of delicate and heat-sensitive media.

A new spreading roller smooths material before it reaches the print bed in order to prevent wrinkles and resulting crashes. Meanwhile, carbon brushes on the roller dissipate static to aid precise droplet placement.

Users of the roll-to-roll option can also take advantage of the new dual roll option, which enables two rolls to be processed simultaneously, doubling productivity.

SwissQprint, which was founded in 2007, has separately revealed that earlier this month it shipped its 1000th unit, to a print company in France that has purchased a Nyala LED printer to expand its offering.

SwissQprint is exhibiting at booth 3.2-C50 at Messe Berlin until tomorrow, 18 May.
