Spandex expands vehicle wrap portfolio

Spandex has rolled out its first chrome film launch as one of four new colours and effects from its 3M 1080 wrap film series of colour-change wrapping vinyls.

The films - satin flip psychedelic, gloss flip ghost pearl, matt shadow military green, and the new mirror chrome-effect film - are available from Spandex at a 1.524m width.

The new additions were launched on 12 October and come with 3M’s microComply and Controltac adhesive technology for easier, quicker applications, repositionability and slideability of the film.

General manager Leon Watson said: “Wrap installers are always looking for new ways to make their vehicles stand out. The latest additions increase the range to over 100 different finishes.

“We launched the additions because we are always looking at upcoming trends and want to keep ahead with new, impactful colours.

“As the concept of wrapping your vehicle expands further into the public eye, the industry will keep increasing. This does not look like stopping any time soon.”

Watson didn't give specifics on price but said: “We offer bespoke pricing to our customers and tailor pricing to their needs.”

He said the 1080-GP280 gloss flip ghost pearl is the gloss equivalent of the existing 1080-SP280 satin ghost pearl product.

Likewise, the 1080-SP281 satin flip psychedelic is the satin equivalent of the car enthusiasts' choice, the 1080-GP281 gloss flip psychedelic.

The 1080-SB26 shadow military green is an addition to the shadow range and sits alongside the 1080-SB12 shadow black.

Finally, the 1080-GC451 gloss silver chrome is Spandex's first chrome film launch and is said to create “amazing detailing” when used with other 1080 colours.
