Shuttleworth and KAS outline plans for Print Efficiently 2014

MIS provider Shuttleworth Business Systems and equipment manufacturer KAS Paper Systems have outlined their plans for Print Efficiently 2014.

Shuttleworth will show the latest vesion of its MIS business management package which will cover e-commerce, native support for JDF/JMF, cost estimating and CRM.

“We’ll be showing our links to the pre-press software that’s onsite, including the Fuji XMF workflow and the True Flow and Equios workflow from Screen, as well as taking data in from Vpress, the web-to-print partner onsite,” said Shuttleworth business development manager Bryan Aplin.

The firm will also show a fully integrated CRM package, which includes a mobile app enabling anyone working remotely to access and update vital information, plus job tracking tool Milestones, which makes it quick and easy to view the status of any job as it progresses throughout the business.

Shuttleworth’s latest Production Scheduling module, which includes a new option for automating the whole production planning process, and its new Mobile Stock app, which allows users to update stock transactions using a mobile device with bar code scanning, will also be on display.

“The event is a joint effort between the suppliers involved and is a small, friendly and informative event that shows the advantages of various technologies to other printing processes,” said Aplin.

“We’ve come to the event every year since it started. We always get a good cross-section of visitors coming along because of the wide variety of things on show at the event. It gives people a taster of what we can do and what we can link with and then we can follow that up after the show.”

Meanwhile, KAS Paper Systems will show a range of its mailing and addressing machinery and finishing equipment at the event.

The firm’s Mailmaster 465HS inserts into envelope sizes between DL and over-sized C4 at speeds of 6,000 complete envelopes an hour. The Mailwrap processes pack sizes from A6 to over A4 at a throughput of up to 6,000 packs an hour.

The KAS CreaseMatic Auto 50 creaser is a high speed suction fed, fully programmable card creaser with a rotary perforating system. It can crease stock in sizes from CD to SRA2 with four creasing width tools to cover the stock range of 80-450gsm.

Print Efficiently 2014, which will be held at Apex Digital Graphics’ Hemel Hempstead showroom on 7-9 and 21-23 October, aims to demonstrate how equipment from a variety of pre-press, press and post-press manufacturers can work in harmony, and to provide an educational forum to offer new ideas to printers regarding efficiency and profitability.
