Ricoh has revealed further teaser details about its new B2 sheetfed inkjet press, ahead of its official launch.

In a series of short video trailers Ricoh has taken the wraps off an animated dragon character, and said the new Ricoh Pro Z75 would involve a brand new platform and “ground breaking innovations”, stating that “the future of sheetfed digital inkjet is on its way”.

In the latest video posted today (30 March), Ricoh said that the press would use 1,200dpi Ricoh piezo printheads made from stainless steel, with “brand new liquid cooling” for consistent results and uptime.

It pitched the device as offering “offset quality with inkjet flexibility” and gave a glimpse of its inner workings (below).

Ricoh is using the Japanese word henkaku, which means “change” or “revolution” as part of the promo.

Printweek understands the Pro Z75, which would have been part of Ricoh’s Drupa 2020 showcase, will be officially launched in early May.
