Seward: praise for team, customers and partners

Pulse Roll Label Products is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The business was set up by co-founders Gary Seward and Dave Whelan, who both had a background in printing inks.

From small beginnings visiting customers and then making the ink themselves later the same day, the business has grown year-on-year since.

After Whelan emigrated to Canada in 2006 Seward took over at the helm of the company.

It moved to its current production facility in Yate, near Bristol, nine years ago.

Seward said the company remained “stronger and more resilient than ever” despite a challenging 14 months for the label industry.

“We have come a long way since we started out 20 years ago,” he said.

“We would not be where we are today, without a great team, and the strong partnerships we have developed with our customers, distributors, and suppliers. I’d like to thank all those who have supported us so far and I look forward to new, exciting opportunities that I am confident the next 20 years will bring.”

Pulse Roll Label Products employs more than 50 staff at its 3,000sqm manufacturing site.

A company-wide celebration will take place later in the year when the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

The firm supplies inks, varnishes and coatings to label printers and packaging converters, and has also developed a substantial international business through a network of partners and distributors. This was recognised with a Queen’s Award for International Trade in 2015.
