PrintWeekLive! debut for Laser Bureau as standalone operation

Laser Bureau has separated from its parent company Cutture ahead of its exhibition debut as a standalone business at PrintWeekLive! 2018.

As of 9 January, Laser Bureau now exists separately to its firm of origin, though Cutture will continue to be one of its clients as it provides laser paper cutting services. It is headed up by Chris Demott, who left his role as production manager at Cutture’s stationery design house to take up the post as managing director.

Set to showcase examples of the firm’s cutting capabilities with an array of products at the Wasps Arena, Coventry, on 7/8 March, Demott expressed his hope to “bring laser cutting back into the conversation”.

He said: “People tend to discard laser cutting as an option because they think it is going to be expensive or it won’t be as good as they are hoping it will be. With our exhibition at PrintWeekLive!, we are aiming to show them that we can give a fantastic service at good prices.

“We showcased under the Cutture name at last year’s show and the reception was very good, people were surprised that our work could be as good as it was. Our business has been growing over the past year and PrintWeekLive! certainly helped.

“Our experience at the show last year was a very positive one, there was a diverse spectrum of people in attendance including printers, buyers, and designers. As a show it ticks a lot of boxes for us as we can make the case for laser cutting to many different parts of the industry.”

Laser Bureau’s stand will also feature videos of the firm’s equipment at work alongside physical examples of its capabilities. Its specialist services include cutting, engraving, perforating, and namecut.

Based in Bedford, the new company has a permanent team of three staff, including operations director Tracey Fisher, and its numbers can stretch up to 20 people depending on the size and number of jobs.
