Overmatter: Duplo Fest

Diary date! Forget Radiohead, the Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran and other nonentities down at Worthy Farm, we’re talking the banks of the River Wey and the upcoming Duplo Festival on 14-15 June.

Yes, Duplo is turning its HQ into Glastonbury. We’re not sure if that will involve the requisite sea of mud and mile-long queues for the loos, in fact we sincerely hope it will involve a better class of WC altogether.

Duplo UK managing director Peter Jolly says: “My vision is a uniquely different event for our industry; a chance to celebrate print in the sun, listening to the best music supplied by the print industry.”

Wait a minute. SUPPLIED BY THE PRINTING INDUSTRY?? Here at PrintWeek Towers we know a bit about this having hosted a printing industry band at our Awards many moons ago. All we can say to Peter and crew is… good luck! While simultaneously pointing out that our production and features supremo Nick Mansley plays the guitar, and Ed Tranter, head of MA Exhibitions, never goes anywhere without some sort of Les Paul to hand.

Jolly announced the event with a call for print-related-song-or-artist-puns, and kicked off with ‘Simple Binds’. Which put us in mind of one of their greatest hits ‘Alive and Stitching’. We’ll get our coat. And wellies.
