Organisers gearing up for Ipex

With Ipex less than three months away, a raft of further exhibitors have been announced and some are revealing the kit they will be bringing.

Newly announced exhibitors include Tech-ni-Fold and Smart Tec, along with Tech-ni-Fold’s sister company CreaseStream, with Tech-ni-Fold showing its Tri-Creaser Advance technology, which can deliver three creases in one pass, and Col-Tec presenting its signature Smart Collator with IDC software.

Tech-ni-Fold office and marketing assistant Steve Humphreys said he was excited to be bringing the Tri-Creaser Advance solution to Ipex and that the manufacturer would also be using the show to “focus on some less talked about solutions”.

Col-Tec sales director Paul Bailey, whose employer has exhibited at every Ipex since 1980, said he was looking forward to demonstrating the benefits of the IDC software in Col-Tec’s “largest target market”.

Other fresh exhibitors include Presstek and Encore Machinery, with previously announced exhibitors counted as Duplo, Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS), Renz, Watkiss Automation, Friedheim and a multitude of others. The expo is also playing host for the first time to HP's Dscoop conference.

Ipex event director Rob Fisher said: “We are in that phase where we’re starting to discuss in detail what exhibitors are going to be bringing to the show and the technology they will have on their stands.

“It’s very much a case of digging out from them exactly what they’re planning on bringing but there are quite a few announcing now or in the near future what’s exactly on show and the different types of technology that is going to be out there.”

One of the key products to be on show will be on the Apex Digital Graphics stand, the UK debut of the RMGT 928P, along with Duplo showcasing its new Sensory Coater, the DDC-810. Friedheim and Watkiss are set to announce what they are bringing in the coming weeks.

Ipex will also be revealing in the first week of September its content programme, with Fisher confirming that the first 20 speakers are now firmed up. He stressed the importance of the learning aspect of the show and Ipex’s collaboration with the London College of Fashion.

“That’s always been the way with Ipex, featuring everything around print in action and we’ve got some really exciting speakers that we are on the cusp of announcing,” he said.

“We’re in that phase where it’s really starting to accelerate and build and the journey we’ve been on for the last two years is starting to come to fruition.”

Ipex will run from 31 October to 3 November at Birmingham’s NEC and will cover all applications of printing, pre-press, software, wide-format, digital, litho, converting and finishing.
