The Japanese manufacturer said the new printheads would be released in the second half of its financial year.
The three new printheads include the 1,200dpi PrecisionCore D3000-A1R which offers ink circulation “at the nozzle level” for the first time.
“The three new products will help accelerate the transition to low-waste, low environmental impact digital printing of things such as textiles, packages, and decorations. They will also facilitate distributed printing, allowing items to be produced locally, and on-demand printing, meaning that printers only produce what they need, when they need it,” Epson stated.
The firm has also announced two new 1.12m-wide (44in) printers, which will be available in September.
The SC-T7700D targeted at point-of-sale and technical architecture and CAD applications, and the SC-P8500D for photo work.
The SC-T7700D uses the six-colour UltraChrome XD3 ink set with a new red ink, while the SC-P8500D’s six-colour UltraChrome Pro6 inks include a new grey ink as well as matt and photo black.
Epson described both devices as “slimline and unobtrusive” with dual-roll input, flat backs for space-efficiency, a handy flat top surface, and an easy-to-use user interface.
Pricing for the two machines starts at £4,475 for the SC-P8500D, rising to £4,644 for the SC-T7700D.
