Latest textile range from Antalis launches at Fespa

Antalis has launched its latest product, the Coala Textile substrate range, at Fespa.

Designed for interior decor markets, Coala Textile comprises 30 separate substrates distributed across 11 application categories including frontlit, backlit, flag, canvas, adhesive, window blind and outdoor. The range will be available from “the back end of the year”, according to Antalis UK head of visual communications Chris Green.

He said: “We want to provide a product that enables people to change a large, bland space into something a bit more personalised and we see textiles as a major driver of that.

“Coala Textile’s longevity is much superior to paper, it is much more effective for things like shading and blinds. Throughout the range we are trying to cover every application you have got, so the different products in the Coala Textile range will suit different jobs and we can advise customers on that at Fespa.

“The briefing when we started the Coala family in 2012 was to put a range together that could be a one-stop shop for customers with the best value for money. We feel we have provided that and are now moving into more innovative areas like textiles with it.”

While Green did not indicate a price point for Coala Textile, he said that it was “more of an Audi than a Skoda” in that it was a premium brand, but not at the top end.

The range has been developed to print with a range of methods, including water-based, solvent, UV, latex and dye-sublimation. Green described the product as “within reach of all customers who are looking for quality of finish on the market”.

Other subsets of the Coala family include papers, films, adhesives, banners and mounts.

Antalis will exhibit at booth A20 in hall 3.1 at Fespa from 15-18 May.
