Kolbus supplies new finishing set-up for Gomer

Gomer Press has bought two new pieces of equipment from Kolbus to help it cope with increasing demand for both sewn and casebound books.

The Welsh book publisher and printer wanted to boost its capacity to produce casebound books, due to addional demand. It has bought a Kolbus DA 260 fully-automatic casemaker, which runs at up to 40 cycles per minute and which managing director Jonathan Lewis described as “the perfect machine”.

Gomer Press also bought a compact Meccanotecnica Aster Pro sewing machine that runs at up to 200 cycles per minute, from the German-owned supplier.

Family-owned Gomer was established in 1892 and specialises in books connected with Wales.
