Ipex reveals Dscoop participation and other new exhibitors

Dscoop will participate at Ipex 2017 alongside a clutch of other recent signings, organiser Informa Exhibitions has confirmed.

The HP graphic arts user co-operative will host its third UK event at the four-day show, which will take place from 31 October to 3 November at Birmingham’s NEC.

Pureprint Group business development director Aaron Archer, chairman of Dscoop’s new UK and Ireland local chapter, said: “Dscoop is a very active organisation and we are delighted to be working with the Ipex team to promote our core theme of innovating print together.”

Dscoop will have its own meeting and seminar space at the show where members will be able to attend educational workshops, network and explore business opportunities. It will also host a series of seminars targeted towards production as well as sales and marketing excellence as part of Ipex’s educational programme.

“We’re very excited to have Dscoop on board, they’re an influential group of users,” said Ipex event director Rob Fisher.

“It’s the first time Ipex has hosted them and we’re really delighted with that. We’re working with them at the moment to create content and to make the area that they’re going to take as engaging as possible.”

New exhibitors announced in the past few weeks include finishing kit suppliers Friedheim and Morgana Systems and used printing and packaging equipment site PressXchange.

Friedheim managing director Mark Bristow said: “As a long-standing supporter of Ipex, the announcement of its return to its traditional home at the NEC is very welcome.

“The venue’s central location, as well as the amount of equipment that will be on display at Ipex from ourselves and other leading suppliers, only goes to highlight the importance of the event.”

Morgana Systems vice-president for offline business Ray Hillhouse added: “We enjoyed a very successful Ipex at the last outing of the event and are looking forward to a very positive outcome this year as well.

“It’s the ideal event for launching new products to UK printers, as we have proved at previous shows, and we expect some new equipment developments around that time.”

IPIA, the association for trade manufacturers and professional print buyers, will also be in attendance and will bring a 'trade village' of its associate members to the show.

Previously confirmed exhibitors are Duplo, Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS), Renz, Watkiss Automation and Apex Digital Graphics.

Fisher said the Ipex team are currently in detailed talks with other manufacturers and suppliers and that further exhibitor announcements will be made in due course.

“We’re very comfortable with where we’re at, there’s lots of things happening and plans are coming together very nicely,” he said.

“People really appreciate the fact that we’ve taken the time to listen to the market and reacted to it. It would have been incredibly difficult if we’d gone to market with the same model that we’ve always had with Ipex, you have to listen to your customers.”

Informa expects the show to attract around 20,000 visitors, around 70% of which are UK-based, and 400 exhibitors.
