Intec launches new ColorFlare models at lower price points

Intec has begun shipping two new additions to its ColorFlare family of lamination and foiling hybrid machines – the CF350 and CF750.

Joining a portfolio spearheaded by the CF1200 full-sized production unit, which was launched in July last year, the two new devices enter the market at lower price points to attract smaller businesses to the possibilities of the ColorFlare technology’s decorative effects.

Both machines are dual laminator and foil flaring systems designed for commercial print. The CF350 is a desktop unit priced at £1,999 while the larger CF750 can be configured in desktop, on a stand or with a dual feed roller and it is priced at £5,999.

Intec managing director Ian Melville said: “The feedback from our flagship CF1200 has been phenomenal, and the demand outstripped our expectations. However, we became inundated with requests for more affordable versions for smaller print companies or those with lower volumes that could not justify the investment of a production unit.

“Many devices can laminate, and some can foil as well, but pretty much all the devices out there are designed to laminate first and foil as a second thought. Intec, on the other hand, design units to provide both functions and aim at a commercial print company wanted to add value to print and we expect them to do this predominantly through foiling.

“As such we tend to deliver more focus on the foiling than other companies do.”

He added: “So far performance of the new models has outstripped our expectations, so we will continue to establish these models in the market and build on their success.”

The ColorFlare CF350 runs at a laminating speed of 1.3m/min on substrates up to 330x500mm and with a thickness up to 350gsm. It runs a de-curling bar for flatter sheets and a cutting knife for end-of-job trimming.

Its counterpart, the CF750, runs at speeds up to 7m/min on paper up to 340x812mm. Its sheet separation system uses a flying blade to slice the laminate at each overlapped sheet and delivers a clean sheet edge for guillotining. A dual arm system enables laminate and foil to be loaded simultaneously for quicker change over and reduced waste.

Both the ColorFlare CF350 and CF750 started shipping as of January and development on the machines to cater to customer needs will continue across Intec’s Poole headquarters, as well as its bases in Tampa, Florida, US, and Canberra, Australia.
