InkTec looks to grow market share with "future-proof" move

Korean manufacturer InkTec wants to recruit new resellers following a 15% increase in turnover in 12 months and doubling the size of its UK base.

Currently the global company, which has UK operations based in Witney, Oxfordshire, sells the majority of its products through four Jetrix resellers and an unspecified number of ink and media resellers.

InkTec Europe managing director Joey Kim said he wanted to grow these numbers and expand InkTec’s share of the market across Europe, particularly with its inks and media product range.

The company doubled its floor space by moving into new leased premises in Witney last week. The new site, which houses warehousing and office and engineer support under one roof also features a demonstration suite, which has been custom-built to showcase the Jetrix printers.

Visitors can currently see the KX6, a standard flatbed with roll-to-roll option, which can output up to 50sqm/hr, and the KX7, a high-productivity model suited to large panels.

Kim said InkTec wanted “a location that would offer us future-proofing for further expansion for the next 10 years and beyond".

He said: “We are looking to increase our sales in the UK and Europe, and it was critical that we had the capacity to increase space in the warehouse to support this and also the office environment that will enable us to take on the additional staff required to achieve this.”

InkTec employs 15 people in the UK with 650 in total in the group. There are three sales people and two in support at the Witney site, with most sales going through resellers. The group has a turnover of £4.8m.

Papergraphics became the company’s most recent reseller last week after it took over from Paperlinx. The other UK Jetrix resellers are Atech, Mayday and Perfect Colours.
