Hollywood Monster goes for gold with £1m Westfield project

Signs and graphics specialist Hollywood Monster has created some of Europe's largest ever banners for Stratford's Westfield shopping centre.

The Birmingham-based company worked alongside retail giants Westfield on the £1m project which involved installing approximately 4,000sqm of sustainable vinyl applications to glazed elevations around the Westfield Stratford City centre, next to the Olympic athletes' village.

Hollywood Monster also produced dozens of flags and lamp-post dressings, along with a 400m double-sided crowd separation banner for the main walkway to the park.

A creative team at the company’s headquarters worked on the production of the banners for three months while its 20-strong rope access team carried out the installation.

Hollywood Monster announced in May that it had taken on eight new recruits in response to a £1m increase in predicted turnover this year to £6.5m, bringing its total workforce up to 80.

Director Simon McKenzie said: "The calibre of contracts we’re awarded from Westfield is very high – there’s lots of scope for creativity and flair, something our team prides itself on. To see the full effect of the Stratford banners is amazing."
