Guardian pulls popular supplement

The Guardian had to pulp a supplement with a print run of more than 160,000 at the weekend, according to reports.

The Saturday edition of the newspaper did not include its popular Guide listings supplement.

The paper carried an apology stating that its non-appearance was due to “production and editorial issues”. It ran a 16pp newspaper section of TV listings, instead.

The Independent reported that the Guide had been pulled due to “last-minute concern over Nazi imagery in its cover art”.

The 230x145mm format Guide is typically around 80pp. It is printed by Polestar Chantry in Wakefield.

The Guardian has an average circulation of 166,965 according to the latest ABC figures.
