Fujifilm UK furnishes service team with extra dotmeters

Fujifilm UK has bought three additional Centurfax microDot dotmeters to allow its service team to confirm the quality of plate creation during installation and ongoing customer support visits.

The purchase doubles the total number of Centurfax microDot dotmeters in use by Fujifilm UK and follows a successful evaluation period for the product.

Richard Lee, service support manager at Fujifilm Graphics Service, said: "Our team have been evaluating the microDot for some time and we are very happy with the results obtained.

"The software analysis tools that are provided with the Centurfax microDot enable quick and simple calibration of the plate, ensuring the very best quality prints are produced for our customer’s printing presses."

Lee added that the microDot was also now compatible with Fujifilm's Pro-T3 plates, making it "even more competitive when compared to other devices that are currently available".

Centurfax's microDot was launched at Ipex 2010 and has since shipped "in significant numbers" according to the manufacturer and its distribution partner Ripware.

The quality control device gives accurate magnified views of dot strictures on printing plate and film. The measurements are displayed via a PC and allow for accurate calibration of platesetters.
