Elitron unveils new compact cutting plotter

Italian manufacturer Elitron has introduced a new compact and creative cutting plotter with plug and play wire-free connectivity for immediate tool changeover.

Launched at Sign Expo in Budapest earlier this month, Agila comes with a multi-tool cutting head for dynamic production and sampling.

The desired tool can be slotted in without connecting any wires and will start working immediately. When changing jobs, the tool can then be unplugged and a new tool slotted in.

Elitron said the machine has a robust platform made from cellular steel, with a vacuum working area of 1.6x1.3m or 0.8x1.3m. The manufacturer’s Seeker System is available as an optional extra, for reference point recognition to speed up the production process.

“The Agila is a fantastic system with new plug and play wire-free connectivity for the cutting heads,” said Elitron marketing and sales coordinator Caroline Bell.

“Generally when you slot modules into plotting systems you have to connect up the wires, but with our system this is automatic. They click into place and the tool changeover is much quicker.”

While it will not be bringing Agila to Fespa, Elitron will launch two other new machines at the show, taking place from 14 to 17 May at Messe Munich.

The Kombo SDC+ 21.32 is a cutting system with a vacuum working area of 2.1x3.2m and a multi-tool cutting head while Spark 19.16 is a compact conveyor cutting system with a vacuum working area of 1.9x1.6m.

Elitron machinery is distributed by Atech in the UK.
