Duplo unveils London Calling launches

Duplo is to host its eighth London Calling event on 4 October, where it will hand three new products their UK debuts.

The one-day event will take place at Duplo’s headquarters in Addlestone, Surrey with the post-press supplier renaming it Automated Precision Palace in keeping with this year’s royal theme.

Kit on display will include the next generation of its iSaddle stitcher, the faster and more productive iSaddle2, which will get its European debut at the event.

Duplo’s new Ricoh Inline Booklet System will also be on show. The system is a version of Duplo’s 350 bookletmaker developed to run inline with Ricoh’s colour production engines.

Finally, London Calling VIII will offer UK customers a preview of its Drupa-launched, 3,000sph mid-volume die-cutter, the PFi DI-CUT 300. Spingold Design & Print took delivery of the first UK machine over the summer.

Duplo UK marketing manager Sarah Crumpler said: “London Calling will be a great opportunity for people to get hands on with some of the latest innovations from Duplo and see some new applications. And with it being a Duplo event, as well as being informative it will also be a fun day.”

As well as demonstrating many of its latest launches, Duplo will also use London Calling VIII to host a customer focus group. And the royal theme for this year’s event will be continued into the evening, with Duplo taking VIP guests to Hampton Court Palace, for an evening reception in the royal palace synonymous with Henry VIII.

Duplo’s headquarters will also be given a royal makeover for the open house during the day, featuring a hog roast as well as royal themed props.

“The concept of London Calling is always customer focused and this year will be no different. We’re even taking the opportunity to host a customer focus group on the day to gather customer feedback in further developing our own business, as well as helping them,” said Crumpler.
