Contra Vision previews new films

Printable window film manufacturer Contra Vision (B7-C70) is previewing new films at Fespa, as it looks to expand its range of see-through substrates.

The UK-based manufacturer is previewing its HD performance high-definition perforated window film and a non-adhesive perforated window film.

The two films are still technically in testing phase and will be officially launched at the SGIA Expo, New Orleans, in October, with commercial launch likely to be a month beforehand.

The HD performance film is an addition to Contra Vision’s range of PVC perforated window films, which come in a range of transparencies, but this new 40% transparent product has holes just 1mm in diameter. It is suitable for high-end applications such as interior décor.

Contra sales manager Martin Van Golen said: “In our business of perforated films this is going to be a revolution.”

Director Dee Barrington-Ford said: “We’ve been working on it for a year or so but there is still some testing required. I think the HD film can be quite disruptive. It has taken us a lot of time to get it to this quality.”

She added that Contra Vision was still in the process of getting feedback from printers and distributors and the product could then be further tailored to the offering that they want.
