Clinical Print Finishers has invested in a B2 Horizon AFC-566FG folder to meet an increase in Z-fold card production.

The machine was installed at the company’s Leicester premises in the summer, supplied by Intelligent Finishing Systems.

The AFC-566F with delivery conveyor can fold up to 42,000sph and offers 17 fold patterns with automated setup.

The machine comes with a wireless controller for remote operation and allows for up to 200 job settings to be memorised for quick recall of regular jobs.

In conjunction with Clinical Print’s Horizon ED-40 vertical stacker delivery unit, the AFC-566F is also able to produce and batch-deliver small-format folding.

Clinical Print operations director Alan Pickles said: “We needed a folder that was compatible with our other machines and proven in the required area.

“We chose the Horizon AFC-566FG as we already have two Horizon folders and they are very reliable for our needs.

“We particularly liked its simplicity, build quality and aftersales support.

“It has enabled us to take on more work in the Z-fold card markets and as such we expect return on investment in 12 to 24 months.”

The specialist trade finisher is celebrating its 44th year in business this year. It employs 35 staff.
