Clicks to install world’s first Truepress Jet W3200UV HS

Clicks will become the first company in the world to install a Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV HS with a roll-to-roll option, after it signed for the press at Fespa yesterday (19 May).

The new machine is an upgraded version of the W3200UV ST, which adds a 3.2m-wide roll-to-roll system. It will be delivered to the firm’s 1,858sqm London premises in the next few weeks.

The device can handle rolls from 750mm to 3.2m-wide and can produce high-quality UV print on both sheetfed and roll-fed substrates at 150sqm/hr.

The printer has replaced two flatbed 20sqm/hr Inca Spyder Vs and an HP Designjet Latex 65500 at Clicks.

“This machine will allow us to grow by boosting our productivity and doubling our capacity,” said Clicks managing director Alan Rigglesford.

“And by replacing three printers with just one that can handle both roll and flat substrate jobs, we free up valuable floor space to hold more finished jobs ready for despatch.

“Our customers want ever faster turnaround times and we are equipped to fulfil orders extremely quickly.”

The W3200UV HS features six colours plus two white ink channels and different print modes, which can be selected depending on the finished product, including Photo Quality mode, Fine Photo Quality mode and Production mode.

Clicks spent around six months researching the various 3.2m options available on the market before it decided on the Screen machine.

“Not only is the quality first rate, giving us the ability to print sharp fine text, solid flat tints and 75 lpi lenticulars, but we can also print on a diverse range of materials from ultra-light newsprint all the way through to heavyweight metals if we wish,” said Rigglesford.

Clicks also operates two Lumejet S200 photonic digital printers, an EFI Vutek GS, two HP Indigos, including a recently installed Indigo 7800, a Fujifilm 1600 LED, an HP Latex inkjet and five other HP inkjet devices and three Zünd cutters.

The firm, which has 43 staff and a turnover of around £5.5m, carries out large-scale installation work and produces items including POS, wallpaper, pitch documentation and photobooks for agencies and customers in the retail, property and events and exhibition sectors.

Screen Europe vice president Bui Burke said the W3200UV HS has received an “absolutely fantastic reception” at Fespa, and that the business has already secured a number of orders for the press at the show.
