Checkprint awarded Naked Wines cheque printing contract

Tall Group of Companies' secure cheque printing operation Checkprint has been awarded a contract to print personalised cheques for online wine retailer Naked Wines.

The contract covered included the design, print and distribution of letter cheques to pay the annual interest on Naked Wines' Fine Wine Bonds. The print run was just over 800.

A single design was chosen with an intricate layout for investors who had opted to receive cash interest (rather than interest in the form of Naked Wines wine credits).

The job was produced using an MICR-accredited laser printer and a Pitney Bowes DI950 FastPac inserting system with a high-capacity sheet feeder.

Checkprint said that the contract was an "ongoing open arrangement" and not tied to the bond maturity date in 2016.

Martin Ruda, managing director of Checkprint, said: "Naked Wines is a unique and exciting business and we are delighted to establish this partnership. Checkprint utilised its specialist knowledge and expertise to create a cheque printing solution that is befitting of such an innovative brand."

The award followed a recommendation from Barclays and a demonstration of Checkprint's Bureau Service, which offers a range of secure cheque designs and bespoke printing options that are C&CCC accredited.

Francesca Underhill, co-founder of Naked Wines, said: "From design and print through to fulfilment and mailing, Checkprint offered a very professional and high-quality service. The Bureau Service provided a fast and cost-effective way of paying interest to our investors, safe in the knowledge that our data was secure at all times. Going forward, we will be using the Bureau Service to make any annual payments to our investors."
