BPIF picks up multiple nominations for association awards

The BPIF has been shortlisted for four Trade Association Forum (TAF) awards, doubling its tally of nominations from last year.

The print federation has been nominated in the categories of Social Media, Publication, Website and Conference. Last year, it beat off competition from the likes of the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) and scooped the Event of the Year for its British Book Design & Production Awards (BBD&PAs), along with being nominated for Publication of the Year.

This year, its social media nomination is for its BBD&PA social media campaign, publication is for its BBD&PA Book of the Night, website is for its newly launched site, which went live in March 2016, and conference is for the Boss Leaders of the Future Conference.

BPIF marketing director Amy Hutchinson said: “The main thing is that it’s a testament to the whole team and the work they’ve been developing on these events and the website and just continuing to progress them rather than just continuing with the same old, same old. So I’m happy that will be recognised.”

Hutchinson paid tribute to the BPIF marketing team she oversees, which consists of Rachael Anderton, Sophie Bowyer, Heena Bulsara, Sophie Chater and Helen Dunn. Along with launching the new website, the BPIF has also recently relocated to a new space at the St Bride Foundation, London, along with seeing its suggestions for the new Trailblazer apprenticeships taken up

Hutchinson said the body's aim with the nominated website was to make it a “key resource for members”.

“Our aim was to make it as accessible and easy to use as possible for members, to allow them to access the information they need, and that’s the same with social media, to connect our members to the serious information they need and also connect with other bodies, like Print Power and Two Sides.”

The awards, which recognise achievement from the UK’s trade associations, will be revealed at a ceremony on 12 July at Drapers’ Hall, London.
