UK finishing kit manufacturer Blackman & White has signed an exclusive deal with i-Sub to distribute its cutting systems to the UK sign and graphics market.

The agreement with i-Sub, a long-established specialist in wide-format printers and cutters, is effective immediately and will see the firm distribute cutting systems throughout the UK from Blackman & White’s Maldon, Essex facility where all of its equipment is designed and manufactured.

I-Sub managing director Andy Spreag, said the partnership offered “a high-end turnkey solution” for its customers’ wide-format cutting and finishing needs.

He said: "Blackman & White has an excellent technical heritage, having been in business since 1964, and their products are at the perfect price/performance ratio for the sign and graphics industries.

"The digital cutters support knife, laser and router tooling and as such offer one of the most flexible, configurable and versatile cutting systems available on the market today.

“The Blackman & White system is the only solution that offers a laser system on the same platform as the traditional cutter router and knife setup. This delivers excellent cutting and finishing quality, which in turn provides our customers the opportunity for more profit.”

He added that the comprehensive tools and accessories available from Blackman & White and the bespoke configuration  of each modular device would be a real benefit to their clients and he expected the laser cutting functionality of the device’s to be particularly attractive for the textile industry.

"Blackman & White systems can be supplied with a comprehensive range of tools and accessories and configured for cutting the widest range of media and materials. Each cutter supplied is configured to specifically meet the requirements of each individual business and, being a modular system, there is always the option to add tooling and functions at a later date if required."

Earlier this year, Blackman & White unveiled its Genesis-Z multi-function cutting system at Fespa which, like its existing Genesis-V range, features interchangeable laser, router and knife tooling. It can also be configured with a conveyorised or flatbed cutting table.

From January customers to i-Sub’s Kettering head office and showroom will be able to see a Genesis V system, configured with all tooling options, for demonstrations.

Speaking about the new partnership with i-Sub, Blackman & White managing director, Alex White, said: "The new commercial partnership with i-Sub – a strong and experienced sales operation with more than 15 years' experience in the supply of high-end finishing systems in to the sign and display market – allows us to further focus our efforts on the continual research and development of industry-leading cutting machines to meet customer demand for faster and more effective finishing solutions."
