Antalis launches sustainable polypropylene sheet

Antalis has added a new sustainable extruded polypropylene sheet to its portfolio.

Manufactured by IPB and commercially available with immediate effect, Triaprint consists of three layers with a cell structured core and a smooth top and bottom layer. Both layers are corona treated, which Antalis said makes the product suitable for screen and UV digital printing.

Triaprint is positioned as an environmentally friendly alternative to the use of foam PVC, foam board and other rigid plastics. Its construction is 100% polypropylene, which makes it 100% recyclable.

The product is available in sheet sizes of 1.22x2.44m and 1.5x3.05m, with thickness options of 3.4mm and 5.7mm. Antalis stocks it in white, with other colours available on a made to order basis.

Key characteristics of the sheet, which is made with a fire-retardant additive, include its smooth printable surface, high compression strength, high rigidity and low weight.

Possible applications for Triaprint include POS and display, indoor and outdoor signage, exhibitions and events, and internal and external hoardings.

Antalis Visual Communications product manager Paul Neale said: “Antalis is committed to the continued development of sustainable material alternatives for its customers.

“Following the recent launch of Xanita Board – a lightweight, robust and sustainable fibre-board manufactured from fibres recovered from recycled cardboard boxes – Triaprint now joins the portfolio. Further products are planned for launch later this year.”

Meanwhile, Antalis has also launched Substr8, a new interactive online product selector tool that the company said makes it simple to select large-format substrates for interior and exterior projects.

Substr8 enables users to navigate Antalis’ range of roll and rigid media by application across eight different creative sectors, using hotspots to guide them to discover more about which products are suitable for a particular application.

Sectors featured include retail instore/exteriors, office, automotive, exhibition and hospitality. The tool also enables users to further filter and narrow results based on product attributes, such as self-adhesive type, environmental credentials and ink compatibility.
