Adobe unveils Creative Cloud Team

Adobe has rolled out the enterprise version of Creative Cloud, the low-cost, software-as-a-service (saas) version of its Creative Suite and other creative software tools.

Adobe launched Creative Cloud in May for single users, before this week announcing the launch of Creative Cloud Team, the multiple-user version that enables file sharing and collaborative working between teams, workgroups and enterprises.

Approximately 326,000 paid individual members had signed up to Creative Cloud by the end of November and when including free trial memberships, more than 1m users have signed up.

Creative Cloud Team offers each user 100GB of cloud storage, compared to just 20GB available to individual Creative Cloud users, as well as centralised administration and billing, technical support and license management services.

Alongside the launch of Creative Cloud Team, Adobe continued to fulfil its promise to add new functionality to the Creative Cloud on an ongoing basis - something Scott Morris, senior marketing manager, creative products, said was central to its success - with the addition of a raft of new Photoshop features.

Morris said: "Print designers are the largest group of creative professionals in the world that use our tools so we're adding a major set of 12 new features, including HiDPI and Retina display support for all Photoshop and Illustrator customers, whether perpetual or Creative Cloud users.

"We're adding a pretty wide variety of features so there's something in there for everyone, whether they're interested in print, web or mobile."

Other additions to Creative Cloud include an updated version of its desktop app Adobe Muse, which enables designers to create websites in HTML without writing code. Using the app designers can now develop customised layouts that can be viewed on mobile devices as well as desktop monitors.

Adobe has also introduced Creative Cloud Connection, which is a new desktop sync app allowing users to sync files to a Creative Cloud account through a simple drag and drop or save function.

Additionally, Creative Cloud Training, a library of tutorials and trial courses, will be launched in the coming weeks to all paying Creative Cloud members.

Creative Cloud for teams is available on a 12-month contract for £53 per month per seat, excluding VAT. Existing CS3 customers are eligible for the discounted rate of £38.12 per month, per seat (excl. VAT) in the first year.
