Adare revamps Huddersfield site following 3m investment

Print and communication business Adare has completely revamped its Huddersfield site as part of a 3m investment in new machines.

The company has installed dual Infoprint 5000 digital print engines, two CMC hi-intelligence enclosing machines and two Jetstar postal sortation units. Patented PIN mailing equipment will follow later this month.

Adare invested in the machinery in order to handle a raft of contract wins, which the business values at over £30m, including a transactional mail contract with Home Retail Group and HomeServe's direct mail business.

Head of marketing Nicola Narey added that the company had taken the opportunity to revamp the facility, removing some old equipment and improving the factory flow.

She added: "We can now offer services across the board, we can offer high-quality, high-volume work, but we can also handle high-quality low-volume work. These are long-term contracts, so it is important to support them long term. We are prepared for what they will need in the future.

"It is important to say, these machines have not been filled up by these contracts, we will be looking for more work to fill them."

The investment has also led to a number of staff additions at Huddersfield plant, while several existing employees have taken the opportunity to move into new areas of the business. Narey added that further staff additions were possible.

Chief executive Robert Whiteside said: "At Adare we are committed to the continual improvement of our solutions and services.  This latest investment programme will give us the platform from which to deliver real value to our clients by driving operational efficiency and the highest service levels using the latest equipment and technology."

Adare currently employs 700 staff across 30 locations in the UK and Europe. It has a turnover of around £135m and clients include HMRC, Whitbread and IBM.
