Charlesworth wins three more years to SGM contract

The Society for General Microbiology (SGM) has renewed its contract with printer and book binder Charlesworth Group to produce its journals.

Wakefield-headquartered Charlesworth Group, which has an existing six-year relationship with the organisation, won the contract after an open tendering process. It was awarded a three-year extension.

Ron Fraser, chief executive of SGM, said "I am very pleased that we are to renew the contracts for a further three years, and look forward to the usual mix of excellent service and exciting technical developments we have come to expect from working with Charlesworth."

In June this year, Charlesworth Group invested over £500,000 in new digital presses and finishing equipment.

Charlesworth Group has also made two new recent appointments. Robert Lewis, its operations director, joins the team to oversee UK production, while a further London-based sales manager, Sajid Ali, was recruited to increase Charlesworth's presence in the South East.
