St Ives produces bio-degradable pack for Warner Bros' fim

St Ives Music and Multimedia, the music, film and computer games arm of St Ives, has created a 100% biodegradable and recyclable pack for Warner Bros' eco-documentary, The 11th Hour.

Produced and presented by actor Leonardo DiCaprio, the documentary explores the ecological impact humans are having, and have had, on the planet and what can be done about it.

Warner Bros asked St Ives to make the DVD case appear ‘noticeably earthy’. The print group chose chipboard made from 100% post-consumer waste.

Martin Still, special projects manager at St Ives Music and Multimedia, said: It was critical that the packaging reflected the gravity of the subject matter. Making the DVD tray and case 100% biodegradable was the best way of achieving this.

St Ives printed The 11th Hour pack using one of its KBA six-colour presses and eco-friendly, vegetable-based inks.
