Fespa Digital organisers have two reasons to be cheerful this year: the show celebrates its 10th anniversary next week and it will be the largest show in its history.
The floor plan for the global digital print and signage event, which will be held at the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam from 8 to 11 March, is sold out with more than 450 international exhibitors. More than 15,000 visitors are expected.
Fespa Digital 2016 will cover the largest floor space in the show’s history, 159% more than the first event in 2006. The show fills seven halls, covering 42,000sqm.
On display will be wide-format print, textiles, signs and interior decoration and a key marketing theme is for speciality print service providers to become “digital print heroes”.
Visitors will see equipment, consumables, software and applications for digital wide-format print and more than 50 product launches from international and smaller manufacturers.
The latter will take the form of a Print Hotel showing 16 room sets decorated using digital and textile print. Rooms include a bathroom, bedroom, bar and meeting room.
Fespa divisional director Roz McGuinness said: “The show's popularity is down to the growth in the digital sector but also because we have four shows in one place.
“This reflects the fact printers are becoming more diverse in their offering to meet market demands and increase business opportunities.”
McGuinness said textile printing in particular was seeing big growth.
“I would like to think visitors will walk away feeling empowered, which chimes with the superhero theme, from what they have gained from the show's educational content, networking and from the suppliers they meet.
“I hope visitors go out feeling more in control and able to drive their businesses forwards, while exhibitors should feel better able to serve them in accommodating their needs.”
Two seminar theatres, the Digital Seminars Area and the Sign Seminars Area, will host daily sessions looking at the trends and technologies in digital, textile, wide-format and signage.
Seminar areas will be supplemented by two specialist one-day conferences, the Digital Textile conference and Printeriors conference, on 8 March and 10 March respectively.
Visitors will also find the World Wrap Masters competition, which includes the final of the European Wrap Masters and then the World Wrap Masters Series Final which will name global champions in the skill.
McGuinness added: “As the largest event to date, it’s a must-visit for the global wide-format print community. Since its inception 10 years ago, Fespa Digital has been the launch platform for many exhibitors, and this year is no exception.”
