Large-format printer Grgprint.com has bolstered its presence in the smaller-format market with the purchase of a secondhand Heidelberg CD74 packaging press.

Managing director of the Leeds-based company John Grogan said he had previously been missing out on smaller work, despite a "very busy" large-format point-of-sale business.

He said: "The CD74 specification was interesting as it prints on up to 800micron – which is ideal for a number of products for the point-of-sale market."

The press was installed at the £2m-turnover company in the middle of September for an undisclosed sum.

Grgprint.com said it is now able to print in B2, B1 and SRA0 formats, as well as A4 to SRA3 digital.
