DotLine upgrades platesetter offering

CTP manufacturer DotLine has announced new feature sets and price points for its range of platesetters for newspaper printing applications.

The German-based company has increased the functionality of its basic configuration platesetters, which have a starting price of €50,000 (£40,282).

In a statement, the company said: "As from now DotLine offers all newspaper devices with two resolutions, following the changed requirements of the newspaper industry.

"The upcoming demand is a production with higher resolution and quality… to increase in efficiency the print production."

DotLine's CTP devices feature resolutions of either 1,270dpi or 1,800dpi as standard, with other bespoke resolutions available.

FFEI, which produces and sells the DotLine newspaper systems under licence worldwide, will display the new machines at Ifra, in October, in combination with the new Pro V plate.
