VIM Technologies slams 'baseless' Presstek complaint to ITC

VIM Technologies has refuted what it described as the "baseless complaint" filed by Presstek to the International Trade Commission (ITC).

Israel-based VIM's rebuttal follows Presstek's February claim that VIM plates infringe two of its US patents and its trademark.

VIM founder and chief executive Avigdor Bieber described Presstek's ITC action as "a bald attempt to intimidate printers in an effort to deprive them of their fundamental right to have multiple supplies of plates".

VIM not only denied the US-based company's claim, but described Presstek's patents as "invalid and unenforceable".

Furthermore, the company defiantly stated it would continue to sell its "better and more economical plates".
